Bacon, Cheese and Tomato Bye!

Bacon, Cheese and Tomato Bye! Originally uploaded by ukok.
Dearest kindly, wonderful, endearing Visitor,
I’m writing this goodbye letter because I haven’t got the guts to say this to your face…(and I don’t know where you live…and you wouldn’t trust me with your address…and if you did you’d be stupid to give it to me)
…I’ve really [...]

It’s 4:35 AM

..and I just heard that little voice, no, not God whispering to me, and not a mouse, but that voice that all mothers dread. The one that say’s “Mum, I feel sick”…which is when you find your child hovering precariously over you with that, ‘wake up Mum and tell me it’s going to be [...]

Slobin’ around

It’s true. If you consume one whole pack of chocolate covered peanuts in less than an hour (you’ll feel pretty pukey and) the following morning, you will wake up 3 lbs heavier than when you went to bed the previous evening
I blew it and I knew it. (but I still did it anyway)
I’m at [...]

I knew I liked Cardinal Arinze!

Laodicea have blogged Cardinal Arinze, on the ‘Cafeteria problem’…you know the one where some Catholics want a BLT, but without the bacon…and maybe without the tomato too…and come to think about it…they don’t like the look of the lettuce either, so forget that as well…but hey!..it’s still a BLT right ? (they’ll still take the [...]

D’arcy what I mean ?

I can’t believe it. It’s taken 37 years of my life to finally get around to reading ‘Pride and Prejudice’…for one such as I, who positively relishes watching period dramas such as ‘Emma’, ‘Jane Eyre’, ‘Little Women’ and ‘Tess of the D’urbervilles’, you might have thought I would have gotten around to reading all the [...]

OK, so it finally happened.

After taking my daughter and her friend to High School this morning, I then proceeded on to the Catholic Primary School that my son attends. When he was safely in school, I waited in the car park for about 20 minutes, reading my copy of ‘High Fidelity’…which, incidentally, is wholly innapropriate pre-Mass [...]

Oh My!

I discovered a most wonderful book this afternoon, perhaps it’s a ladies book more so than a man’s…but I believe that I shall have to share it’s contents, little by little, with my fellow bloggers…

Anne Basso’s blog has a fantastically funny article written by our much beloved John Cleese. Read it and weep, with laughter (unless you happen to be American, in which case you might not find it quite so amusing~ though Anne did :) )

Kenyan’s Massacred on Tuesday 12th July.

“By Wednesday morning 56 people were confirmed dead, including 22 children. At least 10 more died when resident launched a retaliatory mission. Unconfirmed reports suggest that the death total may rise to 100.”

The Enemy Within

Detectives now believe the London bombings were carried out by four British-born men in what were possibly the country’s first suicide attacks. Security sources said it was likely at least three of the men, said to be of Pakistani descent, are dead, after belongings were found at the scenes.
Home grown bombers. Lord, have Mercy!

A Saint of Weight and Worth…

St. Thomas Aquinas (a rather portly Doctor of the Church) penned this beauty of a prayer~
Devoutly I Adore Thee (Adoro te devote)
O Godhead hid, devoutly I adore Thee,Who truly art within the forms before me;To Thee my heart I bow with bended knee,As failing quite in contemplating Thee.
Sight, touch, and taste in Thee are each [...]
