Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow…

It is FREEZING here in the Middle of England! Here’s a picture I took a little while ago from my back door…the garden looks much nicer covered in a blanket of snow ;)

Week in Brief…

Week in Brief…

Friday – Had a great day. Started working in a (currently) voluntary capacity, for the parish. Really enjoyed having something to contribute. Will let you know more about this as it develops. At the moment I’m setting up a parish e-bay shop and am taking on the parish web site ( keeping it [...]

High Maintenance

You know, since my return from the conference a few weeks ago, I have spent a lot of time discerning what God is calling me to do with my life and how best I might serve Him and others. I feel pulled in many directions at present…you know how it is, when you’re not in [...]

Anyone for Coffee?

Catechesis means to echo, to pass on, it is the handing on of the Faith of our Father’s. Tonight we are starting a 1st in our parish, we’re incorporating a caFE programme into our outreach evangelism (which is about to take off in a big way hopefully, but up until now has been miniscule). I’m [...]

I Heart You.

Your Heart Is Purple

For you, love is about establishing and developing a deep connection.
If it’s true love, it brings you more wisdom and inner strength.
Your flirting style: Sincere
Your lucky first date: An afternoon at a tea house

Headless Chicken Syndrome

Apologies for not being around much lately, but it’s that time of year when it’s only going to get busier, I’m sorry to say :)
The weekend has been full of Parish Christmas Fayre’s, discussions with the priest about a new venture he wants me to be involved in, visit’s to the hospital (to visit [...]

In the U.K and Europe, today is the day that we remember those who died forus during the War. Soldiers lost their lives, families, mourned the loss of their loved ones. We will remember them, and we will pray for them. That God is Merciful unto them and that their [...]

RANT

GRRRRRRRR…I have spent 4 hours sitting in front of the computer in an attempt to begin the first of my 3 Catachetical Excercises for Module Number 2 and what do I have to show for it ? 504 words. What’s wrong with that! I could have written a flamin’ Mill’s & Boon novel in 4 [...]

Important Poll!

I am with you always

Found an interesting site with drawings that depict Jesus standing shoulder to shoulder with us throughout our day…in our work and recreation.
Not sure how I feel about the bodybuilder image, but I particularly like the surgeon image, the expectant mother image is pretty good too.

Lost

Lost myself last night at the theatre…isn’t it wonderful when you forget that time exist’s?
We had a fantastic evening. The Nutcracker was exquisitely performed and we were all rather disappointed when it ended.
Can’t wait until next year.

Tippey Toes!

I’m off to see the The Nutcracker this evening.
I love the ballet and I’m so excited to be going again this year. When my mother was a little girl she would watch the flickering flames of the open coal fire as she would sit entranced by the fire and watch what she imagined to be [...]

Waiting.

Waiting is so hard to do sometimes…especially when there’s something that we think we want or need…and God’s will might be for us not to be given our heart’s desire quite when or how we want it.
It’s so easy to miss the here and the now while we’re waiting for life to happen. Perhaps there [...]

Jesus ~ The Light of The World.

I love this image ~ ‘Jesus, The Light of the World’.
When I look at it I think one of many things …
The first is that I imagine Christ walking through this world, unseen by all who reject Him, only seen by those who accept Him. Some prefer the shadows of the night, some prefer [...]

An Affair to Remember

Okay…it just has to be said, that this moment in ‘An Affair to Remember’ (which I watched this evening) makes my heart pound madly…and even though I know what’s going to happen next, I keep willing Nicky (Grant) to seek Terri (Kerr) out sooner after their chance meeting at the ballet…the anticipation is a killer…when [...]

Blimey!

What is it with all this ‘killing’ stuff.

Unholy – well, yeah, they got that bit rightKiller – um, no, I left the ex so I wouldn’t become oneOminous – well, that’s debatableKingdom – I reside in the United Kingdom and hope to reside after my death, in God’s Heavenly Kingdom so I guess that’s [...]

Party Girls!

They played Twister and Truth or Dare, stuffed their faces… watched chick flicks…and generally kept me awake for most of the night with their shrieks and screams and rather loud discussions about BOYS..but I lived to tell the tale so it can’t be all bad…
We had fireworks both last night and tonight (for the benefit [...]

What have I done?

I know. I’m completely bonkers, why else would I be having 6 teenage girls over for a sleepover to celebrate my daughter’s 14th Birthday? Must be bonkers. I’m going to fumble around the garden in the rain tonight attempting to light fireworks so they can all go, “oh, very [...]
