Busy. Busy. Busy Here. Unpacking, moving stuff again (out of necessity, not choice). Arranging more hospital appontments and planning my first haircut in about 8 months!
But though i may be busy here, I’m never too busy to celebrate special occassions with my loved ones and today was one such occassion, as my mother celebrates her 64th Birthday today.
We all went to Mass together at lunchtime and the readings and homily on this Feast day of the Transfiguration of Christ both challenged and soothed me, it was what i needed.
To receive God’s word and God’s Body and Blood.
A full meal.
And then another meal.
All for the Glory of God of course.
In celebration of life and love and every thing that matters most to me.
After Mass we enjoyed a lovely carvery meal together at a local restaurant. I was a wee bit late getting there as i drove to the florist to have some flowers made up for Mum, while I was on the way there.
But aren’t they just gorgeous?
Anyone who wants to see evidence of God’s existance really need look no further than the way God orchestrates His garden (not mine – mine is more hell-like) don’t you think?
Mum may be 64 years young today but don’t think for a moment that she isn’t anything but sassy. Not only is she adept at surfing the net these days (and she reads lots of the blogs that i link to at Ukok’s Place – and we talk lots about what YOU write!) but for her birthday she also just received from Dad, a Nintendo DS light (in pink! My fave colour) and the brain training game too. I bought her a Crossword game for her Nintendo and a subscription to Readers Digest (which is choc a block full of advertisements – wish i’d known that before i purchased the subscription!).
Here’s the cake i got for Mum,it was in the shape of a cute pink handbag, don’t you just love it?
Maybe you have to be a girl to appreciate it’s funkyness, but the boys in my family didn’t mind eating a chunk each!
I’ve lot’s of things to tell you of my recent travels and lots of pics to share and i’m hoping to get around to doing that very soon, but for now i just wanted to share with you Mum’s special day!
