Reading List

I thought it would be interesting ( to me at least) to keep a record of the books I have read/am currently reading. I will write a short review of each based on the generic star system, but with a twist…something Jane Austenesque (because she is my favourite read thus far) that will go something like this:

  • ****** a perfect felicity of a read (it doesn’t get any better than this/it was extremely interesting, engrossing etc).
  • ***** a read that was the cause of much merriment (darn nearly a perfect felicity).
  • *** a read that was neither agreeable nor disagreeable… perhaps more thought provoking and disturbing than enjoyable (rather like the comment made by Jane Fairfax when asked for her opinion of Frank Churchill while at the Bates’, in ‘Jane Austen’s ‘Emma’).
  • ** a mischance of a read (unfortunate to have been either written or read… or both).
  • * a most frivolously incommoding read ( would rather have drilled holes in my eyeballs than to have read it…I will never gain those wasted hours back).
