I scarce can tell…

I scarce can tell the day time from the night

So heavy is my heart and such its pain

And yet there was a time when it took flight

When nothing on this earth, could it restrain

Long departed are those days of love and laughter

Though their memories so oft I do recall

I fear for us there’ll be no happy ever after

Nor peace be made before our final curtain call.

But while I have a breath to breathe within me

It shall be of all, my most sincere prayer

That I may dream of you just as you were, beside me

And awaking from my slumber, find you there.

I read about WB. Keeping you both in my prayers. I have a 12 year old boy, my oldest. Lord, have mercy!!! 🙂

    Much love to you,
    Easter:-)

This is another beautiful poem. You are a gifted poet. I have not been keeping up very well with my blog reading. I’m hoping this poem is not precipitated by a recent, sad event. In any case, your intentions are always in my prayers.

  4. Cathy says:

How touching! Thank you for your tenderness!

Lovely poem. Reminds me of the Art Garfunkel song from a recent album “Every now and Then.”
