Just now? Wow..so different..they are already talking about going back here. Everyone seems to be starting quite early..I think mid Aug. this year.
Two months all year … is that all? Just wondering. Do they get a break in Spring or Fall, at all?

      Suz,

The kids have about 14 weeks a year, I think. 2 weeks at Easter and 2 weeks at Christmas and a couple more weeks during the school year.

I saw this insane commercial the other day where the dad was giddy and rolling the trolley through a store like Staples (office/school supply store) with his upset, disappointed children to the tune of “It’s the most wonderful time of the year” . . . I so get that giddiness! I love my kids, but being cooped up in a two bedroom flat for two months is pushing it – even in Hawaii. 🙂

Sarah, i don’t know about your kids but mine are practically tearing their hair out with boredom before the Summer holiday is over. I guess it’s ok if one has pots of money, but if you don;t have money, then there are only so many walks and picnics etc a family want to go on!

It’s hard keeping kids of 17 and 13 entertained. With one boy and one girl, they are into totally different things and my son in particular doesn’t want to do family things….but if i ask him what he wants to do he says he doesn’t know!
